Hitting the Sweet Spot with Ooh La La Cupcakes’ New Location

Hold on to your sweet-tooth Victoria – Ooh La La Cupcakes has opened another location, and this time they’re hoping to spread some sugary love to locals as well as tourists passing by their new downtown doors. 619 Broughton St is Ooh La La’s second Victoria storefront, with two other spots in Langford and Sidney.

With over three years in the bakery business, owner Sherryl Andrews is hoping to expand the company’s clientele, as well as their offerings. Custom-made cakes, cookies and other treats now accompany the assorted cupcakes that customers can enjoy, either in-house with coffee, or as a take-away gift. And with the holidays just around the corner, Andrews is filling her shop with festive fare such as rum & eggnog cupcakes, spiced truffles, and Yule logs that will no doubt be a hit at any party this winter season.

Working alongside pastry chef Bonny Stedman, Andrews (who spent 34 years as a nurse before deciding to switch careers) holds true to the notion that her company’s products should taste as good as they look. Their best selling cupcake to date is a sinful brownie base filled with gooey caramel, topped with caramel butter cream icing and Skor Bar chunks. Fittingly named “The Triple Bypass,” this popular pastry is one of dozens of creatively flavoured and beautifully decorated confectionaries offered in all the Ooh La La locations, including their new Broughton spot.
