The day began appropriately with snow. Appropriate, because today the first ever Victoria Winter Market was held downtown in Market Square. A handful of hardy vendors set-up on the lower level in the square and brave but chilled shoppers were rewarded with fresh produce, hot roasted Italian chestnuts served in paper cones, local meats, hot apple cider, a display of local salts and more. Is there any lingering doubt that a year ‘round, indoor public market is needed in Victoria?
