Andrea LeBorgne took over as the Monsoon Coast “Spice Girl” in 2008 and has been grinding and blending spices in her little spice room on Salt Spring Island ever since. Monsoon Coast started nearly 20 years ago with six amazing Indian spice blends.

Over the years a number of mixtures from Africa and around the world were added to the lineup. Monsoon Coast now offers 20 different masalas in a range of flavours and heat variations that can help transform everyday meals into taste sensations. Moghul Curry is their flagship mixture, but whether you are looking to create the Best Butter Chicken, Amazing Curries, Sumptuous Tajine’s, Crowd Pleasing Appetizers or Authentic Chai, Monsoon Coast has the perfect spice blend for you.

Monsoon Coast encourages anything goes, “guerilla cuisine”, but they also serve up inspiring recipes on their website While many of the recipes are vegetarian, they also pay homage to the foodie who appreciates local lamb, prawns, pork and chicken! Andrea invites you to “try our BBQ Pulled Pork, Morroccan Crusted Rack of Lamb or Monsoon Coast Butter Chicken recipes... they are to LIVE for!”

You may be familiar with Monsoon Coast from their long history at the Salt Spring Saturday Market and at various craft shows, but their products are also available in nearly 50 stores across Canada. They keep finding new outlets for their popular gift boxes and individual spice jars; the current list is available on their website. You can stock up at a store near you or order online for shipping anywhere.

If their huge following of loyal fans is any indication, now is the perfect time for you to “spice up your life” with Monsoon Coast Exotic World Spices!
