The snow is gone; the end of January is in sight…could spring be just around the corner? Well, that might be a bit optimistic but at least we can go out without shovelling the driveway. Here are a few reasons to leave the house:

Friday Night Flights in the Cellar at the Westin Bear Mountain Resort Friday Jan. 27th 6 – 7 PM

Nestled deep within the Bear Mountain Resort is the Cellar, the Westin’s treasure trove of 10,000 wines from around the world.  The Cellar is open every Friday night for a private tasting. For $20 you will receive four flights of wine, some nibbles and an entertaining presentation from knowledgeable sommeliers. This Friday night join Sommelier Carly Amirault as she presents a selection of wines from Spain.  Then check out their award-winning restaurant, Bella Montagna, for dinner.

Flights and Light Bites in the Pacific Lounge at the Hotel Grand Pacific Friday January 27h 4 – 5 PM

The Pacific Lounge offers their “Flights & Light Bites” session, for  $20, each guest will receive  four tasting pours of the featured beverages, along with a tasting plate with items such as charcuterie, cheese, olives and nuts, depending on the pairings. The feature for this Friday is Eaux De Vie (fruit brandy) and participants will taste their way through some of the world’s most famous including Calvados, Pineau des Charentes, grappa and Poire William. Reservations recommended.

Chef’s Table at Zambri’s Thursday nights

Join Chef Peter Zambri on Thursday nights for his five-course tasting menu.
