Written By Guest Writer Edibles / Food Events Jul 9, 2013 Crabfest to be held in Nanoose Bay SHARE VIA: Facebook Twitter PinterestNorthwest Bay Ranch in Nanoose Bay to Host 2013 Crabfest with Proceeds to Moorcroft Regional Park (Nanoose Bay, BC) – On Saturday July 20, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Nanoose Bay’s Northwest Bay Ranch, home to Seafood4Life, will host a family-friendly crab feast. Tickets are $30.00 inclusive per person and include a plate of Dungeness crab straight from the ocean with corn on the cob, coleslaw and bread roll accompanied with live music from The Centaurs. Free hot-dogs, lemonade and hayrides are available for children under 12 provided they are accompanied with an adult ticket-holder. Ticket-holders, 19 years and older can also enjoy the on-site beer and wine garden where refreshments from Longwood Brewery and Backyard Vineyards are available for purchase. About Moorecroft Regional Park Moorecroft Regional Park is owned by the Regional District of Nanaimo and managed under a Conservation Covenant held by the Nature Conservancy of Canada. The 34 hectare Moorecroft site includes shoreline and spectacular views across the Georgia Strait. There are approximately 32 hectares of natural forest featuring tree species such as Western Red Cedar, Douglas Fir, Arbutus, Bigleaf Maple, Red Alder and Garry Oak. Two intermittent creeks run through the property, and two eagle nesting sites have been identified. The property also contains a wetland area known as Skipsey Lake, an open field and a network of walking trails.
