In celebration of Earth Day, it was logical to look to Dunham & Froese. This Oliver winery follows organic and biodynamic practices, leading and inspiring others to the same since 2005. Partners Gene & Shelly Covert, and Kirby & Crystal Froese are hands-on partners in this small production winery located on the stunning 600 acre Covert Farms Organics – sited at the gateway to the McIntyre Bluff. Plus, buying local reduces our carbon footprint – no overseas freight required for this sipper!So the winery pick is Earth Day evident, but Easter? I’m thinking of a lovely, aromatic white wine, perfect for Sunday brunch or Easter ham dinner. Amicitia [am-ee-CHEE-tee-ah] is Latin for friends, and the trio of whites in this blend have certainly bonded together like best buddies. Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Viognier are aged for 4 months sur lie, providing a round and smooth mouth feel to these expressive and fragrant grapes.
