Written By Guest Writer Causes / Folks Oct 17, 2011 BCHF Invites Industry Members to Help a Vancouver Island Colleague SHARE VIA: Facebook Twitter Pinterest The British Columbia Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) is drawing attention to fundraising efforts for BC chef Sara Craig. Two Victoria hotels, The Harbour Towers and Laurel Point Inn have “adopted” Sara as the beneficiary of the funds they raise through BCHF’s Tip Out To Help campaign this October. The BCHF will match the funds raised by the two hotels up to $5000, and is encouraging other local Hospitality industry businesses to raise funds to help with Sara’s medical expenses.Sara is First Cook at the Harbour Towers Hotel in Victoria. Her partner Andrew is First Cook at the Laurel Point Inn. Both hotels have stepped up to help by promising to donate their Tip Out To Help fundraising proceeds to Sara, who suffers from Crohn’s disease and complications arising from it including inflammatory arthritis and Fibromylagia. Sara is not able to work, and the costs of her illness are very high. The BCHF hopes that other members of the hospitality industry will choose to dedicate the proceeds of their Tip Out To Help fundraising drive to support Sara.If you would like to make an individual donation, or sign up a team to volunteer in a Tip Out To Help fundraising event, please visit www.tipouttohelp.com.About the British Columbia Hospitality Foundation: Formed in 2006, the BCHF is a charitable organization dedicated to providing financial support to individuals within the hospitality community who are coping with extraordinary costs arising from a serious health crisis. Since its inception, the Foundation has expanded to also award scholarships and bursaries to students enrolled in hospitality programmes. BCHF raises funds through donations, third party functions and by hosting events such as an annual golf tournament, Dish N ‘Dazzle and Tip Out To Help.www.bchospitalityfoundation.comwww.tipouttohelp.comBC Hospitality FoundationTip Out to Help< Vancouver Island Food Scene SHARE VIA: Facebook Twitter Pinterest Written By: Guest Writer We get many people writing guest articles for us, as well as past contributors.
