Crush+ Auction

Crush+ is an online silent auction open from November 13 to 19 to raise funds for the Belfry Theatre’s 2023-24 season of plays and programs for artists. You can find fine wine collector items, whisky, spirits, restaurant gift certificates, trips to Vancouver and Kelowna, excellent holiday gift ideas (even for the hard-to-buy-for-person!), and much more!

Here is just one gem that is on offer in the wine section, as featured below by wine writer Robert Moyes, but there are many affordable options in the auction for all price points:

Ever-opulent Château Mouton Rothschild is one of the truly legendary names from the most prestigious winemaking region on the planet; this superstar of the Pauillac region is a superlative example of what Bordeaux is all about. The 2003 vintage was very popular with most critics, particularly the Wine Advocate, whose rating of 95 came with these comments: “Powerful and extremely tannic, with full-bodied, meaty, dry flavours as well as a huge finish, this high-class wine should be at its finest between 2012-2040+.” Wine Spectator bestowed a 94, and high praise indeed: “Blackberry, cherry, and currant with just a hint of toasted oak. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a lovely combination of ripe fruit and vanilla character. Goes on and on. Long and very stylish, balanced and refined.” And Jancis Robinson, celebrated Master of Wine, had these poetical insights: “Rich and haunting and lovely and complete with both lift and depth. Exciting. Reverberant.”
