Now in the third generation, run by Micaela Quattrocchi and her husband, the 300 hectare vineyard in Lavalle Mendoza is perfectly sited for premium wines. At a protected height of 800m, endless sunlight and low rainfall allow purity of flavour – the pursuit of the Quattrocchi family. This old vine Malbec, from their reserve tier, is ample mulled plum, deep blueberry and spice. Crushed violets, anise and black fruit dominate, with silky tannins and a full body. Concentrated and ripe, this monster Malbec is gently easing into its frame after a few years in bottle. Pair with bison short ribs with a savoury-sweet glaze.Rating: (click here to see what our wine ratings mean) EATrecommendsBodega Quattrocchi Reserve Malbec 2007This old vine Malbec, from their reserve tier, is ample mulled plum, deep blueberry and spice.
