Cactus Club Cafe Opens at Coal Harbour

@v01b-entry-dusk-620x400(Vancouver, BC) Cactus Restaurants Ltd. is pleased to announce the official opening of its 23rd location, overlooking Coal Harbour in Vancouver, BC.

The new flagship location, situated at Vancouver’s iconic Jack Poole Plaza across from the Olympic Cauldron, encapsulates the innovation and sophistication that Cactus Club is renowned for and continues to elevate Canada’s casual fine dining category.

“We are proud to be opening our flagship restaurant at this landmark location for Vancouver,” says Richard Jaffray, president and founder, Cactus Restaurants Ltd.  “In 25 years of operations, it is our largest restaurant to date and we look forward to creating a one-of-a-kind dining experience inspired by this location.”

The restaurant offers guests panoramic views of Burrard Inlet and Vancouver’s North Shore mountains and features a “sea-to-sky” terrace with retractable glass wall for open-air dining as well as a 40-seat private dining room.  The wrap-around patio creates an unparalleled experience for guests to enjoy views of Coal Harbour and the Olympic Cauldron.

The menu, designed by Executive Chef Rob Feenie, focuses on the freshest sustainable and local ingredients, including Ocean Wise sustainable seafood.  In addition to long-time Cactus Club favourites and current Rob Feenie signature dishes, Coal Harbour also introduces new and exclusive globally-inspired offerings.  Full menu details are available at www.cactusclubcafe.com/menus/by-location/.

The interior design of the restaurant offers spectacular details from floor to ceiling.  Hand-cut and geometrically-laid Brazilian slate anchors soaring custom fir fin ceilings, oak paneling and Carrara marble counters.  Like all Cactus Clubs, Coal Harbour features its own unique original art collection, from Omer Arbel’s custom-designed light installation “Bocci 28 Pendants” (2012) to Graham Gillmore’s “Willing to Bend” (2013), a piece commissioned specifically for the restaurant.  As a nod to the location’s Olympic history, the collection also includes Andy Warhol’s “Wayne Gretzky #99” (II.306, 1984) and a display of original Olympic torches from Canada’s Olympic Games in Montreal, Calgary and Vancouver.

Cactus Club Coal Harbour offers approximately 500 seats for guests, including 200 patio seats and 300 seats inside the restaurant, including private dining space.

Cactus Club Coal Harbour is located at 1085 Canada Place, Vancouver BC.
