EAT Update — May | June Issue

March 26, 2020

Hello everyone.

It has been a surreal time over the past week and a half for all of us. Changes have had to be made very quickly to accommodate this unfamiliar landscape and I know it has left us all reeling.

All of us at EAT understand how the Victoria hospitality industry is feeling and what they are facing because we are in the same boat. EAT depends 100% on advertising in order to print the magazine and to pay our contributors. None of us know what the future holds, and all of our advertisers have been hit hard. So many restaurants and shops in Victoria have closed, hopefully temporarily, and because of this, I felt the right thing to do was to allow advertisers to defer their May/June ads to a future issue for now. Sadly, what this means is that EAT will not be publishing a May/June issue.

I have had a very hard time coming to this decision. In 21 years and after 121 issues, this is the first time EAT hasn’t published.

The value I place on the support and loyalty EAT has received from the hospitality industry and our readers over the past 21 years is indescribable. I can’t thank you all enough.

The EAT team hopes you all stay safe and healthy, and that we will meet on the other side of this, better and stronger.

Stay safe!
