VICTORIA: Fernwood’s tastiest event, Fernwood Bites, is back for the fourth year in a row, on Sunday June 23, 2013 at 5:30pm to 8:00pm in Fernwood Square.

Many of Victoria’s favourite food establishments will be joining us Sunday to tempt your taste-buds with a small morsel of their culinary creativity. Don’t worry – you don’t have to choose. You can try them all! This year, the funds raised at this fabulous event will go directly to supporting Fernwood NRG‘s NEW food security initiatives:

• Creation of the city’s first Community Orchard on public land. Fernwood NRG is working with the City of Victoria to install over 20 fruit trees in Fernwood for everyone to harvest and enjoy
• Kitchen Garden in front of the Fernwood Community Centre for use by children, youth and seniors to learn about growing food
• Good Food Box program which distributes affordable, nutritious, delicious produce to those in need throughout the CRD
