It symbolizes the gold standard in Canadian fine dining and is a guarantee of excellence to all who enter these Chefs’ dining establishments. This Distinction is offered only to Chefs selected to compete at Gold Medal Plates dinners.“We are very proud to introduce the Gold Medal Plates Decal of Distinction,” states GMP President and Co-Founder Stephen Leckie, “and pleased that our competing chefs will now have a tangible symbol to reflect their level of excellence and selection as one of the top culinary artists in their city.”In 2014, GMP presents twelve dinners across Canada, featuring the premier chefs in each city in a competition to crown a gold, silver and bronze medal culinary team, and subsequently nation-wide at the Canadian Culinary Championships.GMP National Judge James Chatto works with individual cities in selecting their competing chefs and notes: “The Gold Medal Plates Emblem of Distinction is an excellent initiative and a reflection of the quality of the chefs who participate in our culinary competitions. Having judged many of their creations over the past years, I can state without hesitation that those who enter their dining establishments are treated to an exceptional dining experience.”“The Gold Medal Plates events are always one of the premiere social events of the season,” adds Karen Blair, Co-Founder of Gold Medal Plates. “Our entertainers and Olympians love to attend our dinners, knowing they are in for an amazing culinary adventure. The addition of the GMP Emblem of Distinction now means that this level of excellence will be recognized beyond the scope of our dinners, with the emblem proudly displayed in each of our chefs’ dining establishments.”For more information, visit the Gold Medal Plates website www.goldmedalplates.com.The Gold Medal Plates Dinner will take place in Victoria, Thursday Oct 30, 2014.
