Cost of the Event: $69 per person exclusive of gratuity On August 15th we celebrate Julia Child’s 100th Birthday with a dinner party to end all dinner parties. Same night. Same time. Same price. One table in over 40 restaurants and cooking schools across BC. Be part of Canada’s largest dinner party as Les Dames d’Escoffier presents the Julia Child Dine Around. Concurrent dinners across British Columbia with restaurants and cooking schools from Vancouver to Whistler, Victoria to Kelowna, Langley to Bowen Island and Seattle, each donating one table with a set menu and wine, as we celebrate the Grande Dame of cooking, on what would have been her 100th birthday (August 15, 1912 – August 15, 2012) Choose a new restaurant or one of your favourites. Buy a couple of seats at the table, or take the entire table. Some venues have donated 4 seats, some 6, a cooking school has donated 20 seats! Each restaurant is priced exactly the same with different multi course menus paired with wine (approximately 2 glasses per person so please make alternative driving arrangements). Everything is included except gratuity. Restaurants have designed their menu to highlight their own cuisine, with inspiration from the recipes of Julia Child. Please note, this is a night to celebrate food, and although health related allergies will be taken into consideration, the menus are set so no special requests can be accommodated. Click Here to Purchase Tickets All proceeds from the dinners will be donated to Les Dames d’Escoffier, BC Chapter, for scholarship, “Green Table” and outreach funding. Additionally a raffle will be held for gourmet baskets featuring Les Dames d’Escoffier member food products and cookbooks with tickets drawn that evening. In Vancouver an after party with guests from all the restaurants, as well as donating chefs, will be held at the Four Seasons, Vancouver with a special Julia Child birthday cake cutting, displayed in the lobby of the Four Seasons.
