New Owner for Vancouver’s Cookworks Kitchenwares Stores

David Werner, CEO of Cookworks, has announced the sale of the popular specialty cook’s stores in downtown Vancouver to Jed Grieve of Cook Culture in Victoria.

After 32 years in the retail section Warner decided to make a career change and explore new opportunities. The sale will be effective August 1, 2014.

Says Warner, “I am confident that Jed Grieve, with over 20 years of experience in the kitchen retail sector, will bring a new level of energy, passion and commitment to expand the brand into the future. Jed’s experience, hands on approach, and deep knowledge for the category will be a great benefit to Vancouver’s culinary community.”

Cookworks is a unique specialty cook’s store with two locations in the heart of Vancouver. Locally owned and operated, for 15 years Cookworks has offered unique contemporary products, sourced from countries around the world, to be used in the preparation, cooking and serving for today’s sophisticated cook.

Cook Culture is a kitchen shop and cooking school located on Blanshard St. in downtown Victoria. Their stated mission is “to support local food security and a healthy society by promoting healthy cooking from scratch using local ingredients – while having fun with friends and family.”
