Rancho Vignola – Vancouver Island Harvest Sale – November 24 & 25, 2023

For the ninth year in a row, Rancho Vignola is setting up its Vancouver Island Harvest Sale here at the Mary Winspear Center in Sidney. Many of you now have become familiar with the best of the new crop nuts, dried fruit, seeds, and confection that this Okanagan-based company brings in every year, and will be pleased to see it return.

Trying to describe the experience of coming to the Rancho Vignola Harvest Sale to someone who has not been before is hard to do. What is hard to describe is the magnitude of the operation. We bring thousands of pounds of product in from our warehouse in Armstrong, BC, and fill one of the big halls at the Mary Winspear Centre for two days.

This is the place to go to with a list of all the nuts and fruit you plan to use in a year and bring it all home at once. Of course, one can get as little or as much as they want, but you get the idea. Most customers who have already been to one of our sales will know that this is the place to get the highest quality nuts on the market, and this is due to the absolute freshness of it all. All of the products you will find here are from this year’s harvest, and when you taste what that means, you will never forget.

Here are the items on our list to bring to you this year:

Nuts: Almonds, Brazil nuts, Cashews, Hazelnuts, Macadamia nuts, Peanuts, Pine nuts, Pistachios, Walnuts

Seeds: Chia seeds, Flax seeds, Hemp seeds, Pumpin seeds, Sesame seeds, Sunflower seeds

Dried fruit: Apple chips, Apricots, Banana chips, Cherries, Cranberries, Currants, Dates, Figs, Ginger, Goji berries, Golden berries, Mangoes, Nectarines, Pears, Pineapple rings, Prunes, Raisins

Baking: Almond Flour, Coconut, Fruit medley, Cocoa powder, Dark chocolate

Mixes: Trail, fruit and nut mixes

Confection: Chocolate-covered almonds, Raisins, Ginger, and Cherries. Chocolate toffee almonds, Chocolate English caramels, Double chocolate strawberries,

Flavoured almonds: Honey roasted, Honey orange, Onion garlic, Hickory smoke

Other flavoured nuts: Coconut praline pecans and the very spicy Jalapeño pistachios

Gourmet gifts of all sizes: Smaller sizes to fit into stockings during the holidays and bigger gifts such as fruit and nut trays and packed-to-the-brim gift baskets!

As in previous years, this will be a fun-filled tasting and buying event with live cooking demos by Chef Heidi Fink, prize draws, and samples for each of the delicious new crop nuts, dried fruit, and confection brought in from the latest harvest of farms from far and wide.

What started as a natural food store in Vernon, BC, is now home to the freshest new crop of nuts and dried fruit on the market. Most people who have purchased Rancho Vignola products in the past, know about the undeniable quality and freshness it guarantees.

What is a bit lesser known are the values this Okanagan-based company carries:

-They share with the ones who need it most. As a principle, they never warehouse products from one harvest to the next. The remaining product is donated to food banks, charities, and wildlife rehab facilities across Canada. Their annual donation day is truly a heartwarming event where staff, customers, and local community members come and help sort and package all the remaining stock to send out.

-They are passionate like you. When you call or come to the Harvest Sale, you will speak to someone who cares about freshness the way you do. They always strive to source the most nutritious and best-tasting products available and won’t settle for less.

-They are farmer-friendly. Farmers are partners. They have worked together with some of them for over 40 years. In some cases, the sons and daughters of farmers they have started buying from years ago are the ones doing business with them now.

-They are proudly supporting Canadian athletics and improving performance through better nutrition. Ultra athlete Shanda Hill, who just completed two double Deca Ultra Triathlons in a row this fall (YES, look it up, it is a phenomenal accomplishment!), Kyla Shepard Olympic weightlifter, Cross-Country Ski Athletes Julien Locke,  Dahria Beatty, Emily Young, Olivia Lahey, Tylee Carr and many others have been fuelling their training with nutritious dense Rancho Vignola foods. They have recently received community excellence awards in Armstrong for the ways they engage with and operate their business in their local communities.

To sum it up, in many ways, they are keeping communities supported and are genuinely an all-around great company!
