Camosun College and Songhees Nation in an Evening of Food Sovereignty and Cooking for Reconciliation

Press Release — On behalf of Camosun College and Songhees Nation, I feel delighted to invite you in celebration of Indigenous food and in learning how food connects people to culture, heritage and nature. Evening will feature Jared Williams, the island’s indigenous food advocate working with elders of the community to reclaim food sovereignty.

Event will take place at the Songhees Wellness Center, located at 1100 Admirals Rd. Victoria, BC, on Friday, March 29th, 2019, starting at 6:00 pm onwards. This gala event is a partnership between the Songhees Nation, Camosun College’s Hospitality Management, Anthropology and Culinary Arts programs. All proceeds will go to a scholarship fund for the Songhees Nation.
