Welcome Linnaea Farm on Cortes Island to the EAT Community

Welcome to Linnaea Farm on beautiful Cortes Island. This historic 314 acre organic farm on one of BC’s Discovery Islands in the Georgia Strait has always had a big agricultural influence on the area as a market garden, dairy and camp. Currently, it offers CSA, a farm stand, workshops on permaculture and sustainable farming along with a market garden. We’re excited that they have joined the EAT Community. The farm is overseen by the Linnaea Farm Society and is one of British Columbia’s important protected farms. Farm stays are offered in the spacious 8-bedroom farmhouse perched on the edge of Gunflint Lake. Please visit them.

Historic Linnaea Farm is committed to organic, sustainable agriculture, food security and educational programs. Located in the heart of Cortes Island next to pristine Gunflint lake, charitable, not for profit Linnaea is looked after by eight resident stewards and home to sheep, cattle, chickens and abundant wildlife. Its 315 acres supply Cortes Island’s Natural Foods Co-op with organically grown produce and meat year round. We also support local families in spring and summer with fresh weekly Community Supported Agriculture produce, and have a regular booth stocked with the tastiest seasonal offerings at the Friday farmer’s market visited by residents and visitors. We quickly sell out every week! Our farm gate roadside stand is well stocked with veggie and flower starts ready for planting.
